“Yakshagana is a folk art and theatrical form of presenting historical and mythological stories. Popular in the coastal regions of Karnataka, India ( Udupi Mangalore and Malnad ), it has a unique and distinct style of music, dance, dialogue, costume and makeup. Since Yakshagana is usually performed from dusk to dawn I decided to take a few pictures with just the Diya light to give it a real Yakshagana feel. And as for the wishes its written in Kannada ( a South Indian language ) to give it an ethnic touch :)” – Ashwini Hebbar
