This birthday cake was for a little girl;  wanted a mermaid cake. Made the mermaid, shells and sea plant with satin.ice fondant. And the outside of the cake with all kind of colors of blue chocolate. Sculpted some waves too. Inside vanilla sponge with a lovely creamy white chocolate mousse and raspberries.

My two tiered mermaid cake was created for a sweet little girl who just loves the ocean. The bottom tier is covered in fondant pearls and then sprayed with edible gold spray. The tope tier is covered with multicoloured scales and a hand sculpted mermaid torso and tail. It was so much fun to make and a real showpiece at the birthday!

I designed this cake for a wedding last year, the theme was “Vintage World Travel”. The couple had got a son shortly before, so he should be integrated into the cake. I´ve thought about attaching him to a parachute. For the statics we have made a frame made of stainless steel. This cake was something special for me, but I enjoyed it so much!

I really like Terracotta’s pot and Sunflower, the combination of these elements, plus happiness and love, I’ve decided to design a cake to represent all of them with some technique. So I ended up with my gravity cake.
It was a layered chocolate cake with vanilla cream. Covered with terracotta’s colored fondant. I have used Orio cookies for the pot soil and green colored shredded coconut as grass.To show the happiness and love, I’ve put the love Snails made by fondant and big smile in face of the Sunflower.
