My client wanted a design that incorporated their favorite animals (pandas & giraffes) and some sort of water element for the cake. I wanted the design to have some movement and tell a bit of a story, so at the top is our little giraffe friend with his cake and his panda guest playing in the water down below. The party decor included edible “palm tree leaves” and wooden signs directing party-goers to the celebration. And just for fun, I added a cute frog guest hanging out by the pond.

This cake I had to make for my client (my manager) for his wife’s birthday, but she was also pregnant, that’s why the baby is in front, she had only a little bit time to go before delivery, so double surprise.

He sent me a picture from his wife’s favourite MK bag and he asked me if I could make a cake like the Michael Kors bag. It was so much fun (and a little stress) to make and the result was fabulous as you can see.

This cake was created to honer the first birthday of Allard. Some of you may think that this may be too much for a one year old, but in Brazil its pretty normal. First birthdays are important and are celebrated with very big parties with a lot of decoration following a specific theme.

The theme for Allard was Winnie the pooh and this cake has it all. Decorative enough to feed the fantasy with Winnie’s dreamworld. But also big enough to literally feed 30 hungry people.

The cake featured was our first ever jaw dropping cake. This cake is 6 tiers of deliciously decadent goodness. Iced in 22 lbs of our signature ice cream buttercream and covered in buttercream fondant. The cake is encrusted with actual jewels from top to bottom. It was swinging on a blinged out custom made pendulum, made by the bride and groom. It was our privilege and honor to have been chosen to carry out the bride and grooms vision of their gorgeous centerpiece cake.

Alicia Mason’s Note:

This cake includes 4 layers of 8” vanilla and and chocolate cakes.  The buns are white cake with vanilla buttercream and fondant painted tan, along with fondant sesame seeds on top bun!  Buns were shaped using a serrated knife to give that real bun look!
The burger is chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache and some rice crispy mixed in the ganache to give that burger look!
The onions, tomato, lettuce and cheese is fondant.
The cake board is covered with white fondant, lines were pressed into board as well as small circles at ends of the lines of the “wood”, then painted with food coloring in different shades of brown to give it that wooden board/floor look!
This cake was fun to create and I was proud to give it to my customer!

This was a rich Chocolate cake for a little girl called Ryka who is fascinated by pirate ships. The body of the ship was created by using rolled textured fondant, patiently handcut one by one into pieces. It was even more challenging (and hence more satisfying) to implement the sails using edible wafer paper and ensuring that the anchor could be dropped into an ocean if needed be.

An all white 7-tier white wedding cake were made with handmade sugarpaste flowers. Cake flavors were chocolate, red velvet, vanilla butter, chocolate marble and mango, my all time favorite pound cake flavors. All cakes were filled and covered with ganache and my home made fondant. Mostly a one woman cake, but was able to finish the cake with the help of my husband who rolled the fondant for me.
